But let’s start with first defining if YOU could be one of those people.

Perhaps you already know you are an INFJ, but starting a business based on your personality type has never crossed your mind, so let me tell you about all of the exciting and magical reasons why you could take a look at entrepreneurship!

What is INFJ

INFJ is simply one of the 16 personality types that are identified by the Myers-Briggs Type indicator (also known as MBTI) and it explains how people perceive and make decisions for themselves.

That is indicated by the four categories: Introversion vs Extroversion, Sensing vs Independence, Thinking vs. Feeling and Judging vs. Perceiving.

Based on the test (that you can easily take online) you will come out with a result of being assigned to either one of these 16 personality types.

And if you are anything like me, then you might fall under the rarest Myers-Briggs Personality, which is.. as you guessed, the INFJ personality type.

Knowing which type you are, can help you tremendously if you’ve ever thought about starting a business, so if you are reading this post, I’m going to assume you are an INFJ and would like to know exactly why YOU are meant to start a business and become an entrepreneur!

But before we find out your superpowers in your entrepreneurial journey, let’s first take a look at some of the obstacles you might face in your business as an INFJ.

Roadblocks INFJ’s might face in their business

INFJ’s & Perfectionism

INFJ’s tends to be perfectionists and you most likely always want to “go the extra mile” even if there’s no reason to do so.

This can be a huge obstacle for INFJ’s as you either always have 1000 different projects on the go and never really focuses on finishing ONE task at a time, or you get the self-sabotaging behaviour of imposter syndrome, and never actually show people your work, because you deep down believe it’s not good enough for the world to see.

This can become a very difficult thing to deal with, when I know as an INFJ myself, all you long for is creating meaningful work that will help make the world a better place for everyone in it, but you are constantly being stopped by second-guessing yourself and wanting it to be a certain way.

But if you get out of your way, you are truly on your way to big things!

One mantra I like to keep in mind is the saying that goes “Done is better than perfect”.

Because if you think about it, what does your perfectionism do for you? (If you can’t come up with a good answer, then you need to work on it)

Watch out for your sensitive energy levels

Watching out for your energy levels is a whole new learning curve – one that takes serious effort and boundaries! (Which I already know you are struggling with big-time simply by being an INFJ)

But I can’t emphasise the importance of taking care of your extremely sensitive energy levels.

You hear me…?

Protect this at all costs!

INFJ entrepreneurs are very quick to experiencing burnout and it means you might not get to where you want to go if you don’t set up healthy boundaries in your business from the start!

I remember when I first started. I was working on starting my business 24/7, 7 days a week for an entire YEAR.

And do you know where that got me? Exactly.. nowhere!

I was in a constant loop of stressfully trying to make it all work, but in my attempt for wanting it so badly and working my butt off, I burned out constantly, meaning that I had to take 3 steps back and only able to move forward with one for the longest time.

Care to say, it was NOT worth it and I don’t want you to make the same mistake I made.

There is nothing wrong with being passionate and excited about what you want to create, but don’t let it cost you your well-being.

So the best thing you can do for yourself is to take responsibility for your health and energy levels, so you can build the dreams you see for yourself.

Attaching your worth to your work/career

Yes, I know and understand how important it is for you to do what you love and make an impact doing so.

But your self worth should not rely on your work or how much money you are bringing into your business.

Your worth is INFINITE.

So don’t attach your worth to any criticism, how successful you become or any rejections or sales calls that didn’t go through for you.

This has nothing to do with you and you are only causing yourself pain by attaching your worth to your work this way.

So practice being neutral in your business whenever you are working on something and understand that, even if you didn’t finish that task, didn’t get that client or aren’t making as much money in your business as you would like to, that this isn’t based on what you are or aren’t capable of.

But it is a matter of healthy boundaries with yourself and deep self-love and inner work.

If you need a little help with doing the inner work, then here are some more resources:

Decision making

As an INFJ, it is not that you are bad at making decisions.

But you like to make informed decisions, so thereby taking your time, investigate and then go ahead and make a decision.

Needless to say, this can be a huge issue in the business world, as you will rely on taking many decisions throughout your day and often you don’t have a lot of time to do this in, and even after a decision is made, you tend to think even further about it to make sure you did the right thing and are truly happy about your decision making.

But this isn’t just all bad, because once you DO make a decision, you will stand by it pretty firmly and you won’t change your viewpoint, especially if it’s very important to you.

Why being an INFJ is your superpower in the business

If you have read my posts for a while, you know I firmly believe in the fact that your business is ultimately a spiritual path, and no matter where you have been in life or what has happened to you, you can always choose which path you want to go on.

This is where the entrepreneurial path comes into play, as this has without a doubt led me down the biggest spiritual awakening of my life.

I know it might not seem obvious at first, but if your business is based on your unique identity (which I am also a believer in that it should be) then your spiritual path will awaken the deeper into the entrepreneurial journey you go and the deeper work you do with yourself, as that is simply and no-questions-asked bi-product of any entrepreneur out there!

I’m pretty sure you are already aware of the incredible empathic gift you have within you.

As an INFJ, you are naturally empathetic, and with this gift, comes also your ability to be hyper-aware of others emotions and intentions and feeling deeply with others.

This is a superpower in the business world, as you will understand and feel deeply with the issues that people have and needs help with, as you have a unique ability to get in touch super fast with peoples inner lives, which will make you an outstanding coach and entrepreneur, that most couldn’t even dream of being!

Alongside your great ability to feel with others, comes your ability to easily connect TO others.

Truth be told, as INFJ’s, we don’t often open up and let people into our own lives, but you DO have an incredible ability to reach people very authentically and preferably very deep if you choose to.

This goes without say, that you make a great mentor and coach because you yearn to help people bring out their true potential and you will thrive in a relationship that helps other people grow either mentally, physically, spiritually and beyond!

If only everybody had a mind as open as yours, the world would look completely different.

But this ability goes well with your ability to feel with others because you can put yourself in other’s shoes very strongly – this exceeds to a level where you love to learn, dream and imagine what is possible in the world to create and achieve for others and yourself.

You have a strong belief that anything is possible with enough hard work and you can always learn more to make things happen!

With your amazingly open mind and open-mindedness to what is possible in the world, comes also your unbelievable strong-willed nature.

You will do anything to make it work, and won’t stop until you’ve made it happen (as long, as you are passionate enough about it!)

Yes, you can suffer from imposter syndrome and your quiet nature, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make an incredible leader and coach, because you have the immense strong willpower within you to keep going no matter the obstacles and learn from each hiccup.

This is an incredible superpower many don’t have, and this is the exact reason, that where many would throw in the towel, YOU don’t. You continue until you are where you want to be!

I hope you can see for yourself now, that being an INFJ type is freaking incredible and you are a MIRACLE on feet for others in the world!

So CELEBRATE yourself, celebrate who you are and the superpowers you have!

There will be hard days, but you can overcome them all!

If you feel called to share how your INFJ personality affects your dreams or you have any questions for how to deal with it, then please share them below! I’d love to help and together we can heal and inspire each other with the unique gifts we have!

Leading and running your own business is not for everyone. But allow me to elaborate and say, that there are 100% certain types and people in this world who perfectly fits the criteria of running a soul-led business and the INFJ personality type is one of them!
